Manchester United are now preparing for their final match of the tour of the United States, the team trained this morning in Houston where the match against Real Madrid was played, to fly this afternoon to Las Vegas and face their final match against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday; after the defeat the coach will make some changes with the intention of closing the best way this series of matches they have had during the week.
As we remember, during the match against Real Madrid, the young star Kobbie Mainoo injured his ankle and had to be substituted just three minutes into the match; although the seriousness of his injury has not been disclosed, Ten Hag is apparently aware that he will not have the star player who has shone during this preseason, besides that Amad Diallo, who also got injured against Arsenal, means another significant loss for the match against Dortmund.
For that reason, the coach had to make some adjustments to the squad and add Jonny Evans and Joe Hugill as replacements, also with the intention of seeing more players involved, as the start of the Premier League is just around the corner and Ten Hag will have to choose the players who will make up the first team.
Therefore, the club will continue to prepare for the three matches that are missing in this preseason, to start on August 14 with the new season where they will debut against Wolves, in that way, Ten Hag knows the importance of closing strong and start the Premier League in the right way.
During the five games that Manchester United have played in the current preseason, they have used most of the young players who come from the academy process, to give them a greater opportunity to improve their development; Mainoo and Diallo are the players who have excelled over the others, so they have earned a place in the main squad.
