Messi relationships at PSG are completely broken, some ultra fans from the parisian team have started a movement to make Messi go out of the team, and they even waited for the World Cup winner with flares and banners asking him to leave their club, amongst some other insults to him.
The argentinian has a contract until this summer of 2023 and that seems to be the end of the relationship between them, so while Messi is looking for another team to play Manchester United actually put themselves in the run for signing him.
Most of the media thinks Messi is going to have a return to Barcelona, but they are not taking into account the fact that Barcelona right now has some serious debts and they even have to take out loans in order to keep the team going, so it seems a really long shot to think that they might be able to sign him at all.
Messi is earning an annual salary of around 41 million euros per year at PSG, so in order to make a move to any team he will have to take a salary deduction, but on the other hand there are some teams like Manchester United that could make a offer good enough for him to consider playing for them.
Cristiano Ronaldo came to Manchester United to have another run with the team, but he was not willing to adapt to the project that ten Hag is trying to accomplish with the red devils, and that fact could make Messi a better option, a player that at PSG has shown that still has a lot of talent left in him but that is willing to adapt to a new role like a substitution or not playing every minute possible.
