Now that the red devils are set to face one of their top targets in the past transfer window, it seems that there are several reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo stopped the signing of the striker.
Several sources have confirmed that Harry Kane was ready to wait one year until he would have been a free agent to sign with the red devils, but now it seems that the real reason why the striker was never going to arrive to Old Trafford was because the past experience of Ten Hag with the portuguese player when he returned to Man United and how things played out.
The fact is that the last time that Cristiano Ronaldo was at Manchester United, it was not what the fans were expecting, the main reason being that the striker had a lot of problems with Erik ten Hag, something that caused a lot of tension inside the team and that is something that the red devils manager was not ready to repeat with Harry Kane.
It has been confirmed that Erik ten Hag himself rejected several chances that he got to sign Harry Kane, the reason being that he was concerned that he was not able to managed a personality like the one that the striker seems to have and he wanted to avoid a saga like the one that he had with Ronaldo, so he decided to reject any chance to sign him.
That is why Erik ten Hag decided to sign Rasmus Hojlund, because he knew he was a younger player that still does not have a personality of a big player and he believes that he could have been a lot easier to work with, so it seems that the past experience with Ronaldo is the main reason why despite the interest of Harry Kane to make the move, it never happened.
Now Harry Kane is going to be a rival of Manchester United in the first game of the group stage of the Champions League and that could complicate things for the red devils to face a great striker.
