During today’s press conference prior to the next Premier League fixture against Brentford, Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag was questioned about what changes will he make after last week’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion in the first match of the season, which ended up in a defeat at home.

When he was asked if Cristiano Ronaldo will start the game, he did not confirm it because he doesn’t want to give an advantage to their opponents: “He had a good training week. I thought he played a little bit longer than half an hour. He has had two half games, and for the starting eleven, we will see tomorrow. My decision, I keep it”.

It is very likely we see the Portuguese star on the team sheet this Sunday right from the kick-off as Anthony Martial is still out with a hamstring injury. CR7 has been training alongside his teammates for three weeks; in addition, reports have said that everyone is impressed by his attitude in training as he is showing commitment.

Today, the Spanish reporter from Diario AS Manu Sainz, guarantee that Ronaldo will stay at Manchester United this season, unless there is a last-minute surprise. Ten Hag already knows that Cristiano will reluctantly stay at the club but remains hopeful that the 37-year-old striker will be part of his project for the next couple of years.

Ronaldo is ready

Despite Anthony Martial’s absence from last Sunday’s match was confirmed three days before the game, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t included in the starting eleven. He came in during the second half but couldn’t help the team to make a comeback. Ten Hag claimed that the Portugal captain wasn’t match-fit to play the full 90 minutes. A week later, he has to be completely fit.
