The transfer market has been starstruck by Manchester United in recent seasons. First, it was the unprecedented return of Cristiano Ronaldo on deadline day last season that broke the internet and also the Premier League record for the number of shirt sales in a day. It was a huge coup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United to bring him back.
Almost a year later, Manchester United stunned the market again with another marquee signing as they announced the deal for Casemiro from Real Madrid in the final few days at the club. This time it was Erik Ten Hag's latest signing in the summer.

There was a moment of disbelief about United's interest in signing Casemiro but the Brazilian helped to clear that doubt by requesting to leave Real Madrid after a decade of ruling club football from the Spanish capital. His request was granted and he made the big move to join Ronaldo at Manchester.
The pair had previously worked together at Real Madrid for many seasons before Ronaldo left. Casemiro's important to the United team has seen him become a regular starter for the club and also their most important player since joining the club.
Sadly, Ronaldo and Casemiro couldn't be together for long as Ronaldo's contract was terminated by the club in late December. Nonetheless, Casemiro's form hasn't dropped and he bagged a brace in last night's 3-1 win at Old Trafford. Casemiro now has nine goal contributions this season, which is double his effort from last soon and more than what Ronaldo had before his exit.
