Manchester United have probably signed one of the best players available in Mason Mount, what the British midfielder has achieved at his age, not many players have achieved even with more career, however, there was another option that Ten Hag had planned as option b in case the signing of Mount had not gone as expected.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder, Moises Caicedo was the chosen one to replace the arrival of Mason Mount, the Ecuadorian player, would have been very flattered to have the attention of a club as big as Manchester United this summer and it is not for less because the Dutch coach praised Caicedo, besides putting him as a second option to strengthen the midfield.

However, the Red Devils ended up deciding on Mason Mount, paying approximately 60 million pounds and a contract for 5 years; with both playing in the same position Caicedo's hopes of joining United would be reduced, so the Ecuadorian so far has not defined his future, although everything could indicate that his departure from Brighton is imminent.

Ten Hag would go for Mount instead of Caicedo, a younger player, probably with more potential and at the time would have come cheaper, even so United would be very aware of the movements of the midfielder to be able to sign him in the future.

Interest in Caicedo in England

Moises Caicedo is one of the most sought after players in the market, Manchester United was one of the first teams that would be interested in the Ecuadorian; at the time that the Red Devils were more interested in Mason Mount, other teams in England emerged as possible alternatives for the midfielder, one of them would have been Chelsea with Mauricio Pochetinno as his manager would be willing to submit an official offer; the other club interested would be Liverpool, who signed his Albion teammate Alexis Mac Allister.
