Manchester United suffered a painful defeat to Galatasaray in yesterday's UEFA Champions League match from Old Trafford. Things for Erik ten Hag's team did not go in the best way and it was demonstrated on the pitch that the internal crisis of the club is still present. Even though the team didn't perform badly, the result just didn't favor us.
One of the Dutch coach's goals this season was to improve certain areas of the pitch where there was little understanding of his system of play. It should be remembered that since last season, United have struggled to find a reliable striker. With the mission of signing a 9 and players who will strengthen the midfield, Carrington's team shelled out almost £200m in signings.
Among the players who arrived at Manchester United this season is Rasmus Hojlund. The former Atalanta player offered United to have a confident striker, with youth and good numbers that put him as the ideal candidate to be the new 9 of the team. Another of the hirings was Andre Onana, who has had specific errors in the last Champions League fixtures.
Another of those chosen to join United was Mason Mount, who had shone during his time with Chelsea. However, in short, the only one who has shone has been none other than Hojlund. After the series of poor results and with yesterday's defeat in force, many have demanded the departure of the Dutch coach of the Red Devils. At the moment, it has been revealed whether or not the former ajax could leave the team.
According to Guardian Sport, Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United is assured and it does not seem that there will be any changes soon. The board's decision on Ten Hag could be based on the commitment that the team has to fulfill the project offered by the manager in the team. However, the results have to be seen soon.
