Fred is just one player in a long list of United's signing mistakes

Manchester United have had the bad fortune to sign players who promised to be big stars for the club, but in the end ended up being a terrible failure and did not return anything of what was paid for them, for that reason Erik Ten Hag would have to learn from the mistakes of the past so that this summer they sign players who have a real value for the team.

The Red Devils have been plagued by great players who became legends of the club, but they have also had many bad signings who are remembered for their poor performance since their arrival, examples such as Alex Sanchez, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, among others; not only they could not shine, but also United would let them leave without receiving a transfer fee.

This would be a clear example of the mismanagement that the board has had in recent years and another reason why the club is in a very large debt, because in the last three years, the Red Devils have received only £74.3 million in the sale of players, while in the same period of time, they have spent £430 million in new signings.

So now Ten Hag would be looking not only for players within the budget, but also for players who can perform from the word go; in addition to that he would pay close attention to players who finish their contract early so as not to let them go on a free transfer, but to make a transfer that could help the team to have some remuneration.

The Brazilian midfielder has a similar case, he arrived in 2018 with a value of €59 million, to be one of the stars of Manchester United, however, he ended up disappointing by never being able to consolidate in his position, now that the midfield is well covered by good players, his time within the club seems to have come to an end; so Ten Hag would hope to finalize his signing before the end of the summer.
