Manchester United come from a painful defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday 3 August, where the team coached by Ten Hag could not keep the result that would at least give them a point in their visit to the Emirates Stadium and due to the lack of concentration in the defensive backline allowed two goals in less than five minutes, which defined the definitive defeat of the red devils.
For his part, Erik Ten Hag will have the opportunity during this international break to make some changes with the intention of improving the team's performance, because as we have seen there have been more doubts than certainties in these first weeks of the Premier League where the team has 6 points out of a possible 12, so if they want to win the title, they will have to make obvious adjustments that will give immediate results.
One of the possible moves we will see for the next few games will be in attack, as in previous weeks Ten Hag was occupying Anthony Martial as centre forward, who was given a last chance for this campaign because during the summer there was a rumour that he could leave after not having shown a good performance in his game in addition to his long history of injuries.
So the coach decided to keep him in the squad so that he could show his qualities that at some point he was able to show, however, during the game against the Gunners we could see his frustration after not being able to contribute almost nothing for the team, so he was substituted after 67 minutes to give Rasmus Hojlund a chance to make his debut.
As we already know during this transfer market Manchester United was in search of a new striker, so at the end of July they were able to sign Rasmus Hojlund who only in the match against Arsenal could make his debut with the Red Devils due to an injury in preseason, this way Ten Hag plans to occupy the Danish striker in the starting line-up, so Anthony Martial would be relegated to the bench and therefore see fewer minutes of play with the team.
