Mason Mount arrived to the team to reinforce the midfield, but besides that he was the number one option for Ten Hag, as his long search would not bear fruit until the fourth offer presented, so United had planned to sign the British midfielder at any cost.
The Red Devils officially presented Mount at the beginning of the month, although there was always a lot of speculation about his arrival and before being signed he had already had talks with Ten Hag, it was only on Wednesday July 5 that he was seen for the first time with the United shirt, which by the way is wearing the legendary number 7 that had been rumoured to be given to Alejandro Garnacho, but ended up being the Briton who will keep the privilege.
The British midfielder immediately began his full incorporation with the club, after passing the medical examinations without any problems, so he could be ready for the first game of the pre-season, the coach has been using him in the first half of the matches, with the intention that he can continue to get into rhythm and adapt to the system of play.
There is no doubt that the arrival of Mason Mount was a big talking point and could continue to do so for some days to come, what is clear is that United must continue to look for new signings, there are areas of the pitch that need to be strengthened or given more depth if Ten Hag are to do well in the Premier League and Champions League.
Besides Manchester United, other Premier League clubs were interested in signing Mount, according to some reports, Liverpool and Arsenal would be the teams that would have shown more interest, for his part Klopp would have said that he is a fan of the midfielder for a long time and did not deny his interest in the player; while Mikel Arteta was not only a fan of the Briton; however we already know how the story ended and coach Erik Ten Hag was the main factor for Mason Mount to choose United.
