Manchester United had their fourth warm-up match on Tuesday 25 July, the team is on a tour of the United States, where they will play two more matches during the week, the first against Real Madrid on Wednesday and the second against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

Erik Ten Hag had to divide the team as he would have to play two matches in a span of two days, in addition to moving to another city, for that reason against Wrexham, the coach used U21 players with the intention of giving more playing time to the young players and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, however, things did not work out as expected.

The team performed very poorly in all aspects, the players were never able to establish their form and several mistakes cost the club their first defeat of the pre-season, this certainly raises the question of whether Ten Hag did the right thing by playing purely with young players or should have made a mix that would have allowed him to secure the victory of the match.

Even so, the team is already in Houston to play the next preparation match, this match must be won either way, so that no doubts begin to arise about Ten Hag's project and he can give a little more peace of mind after the terrible performance they had.

Disappointing debut

Manchester United had one of those days to forget, as they lost 3-1 against Wrexham in the fourth division of England, the coach decided to go with pure U21 youth players for this match, but it did not go as expected; Daniel Gore was one of the most disappointing players in the match, being his first participation in the pre-season and coming on as captain, he received a red card halfway through the second half, which meant that the team could not recover from the disadvantage, given that reason he would have to change his tactics for the remaining matches on the tour.
