Wayne Rooney has always been a different player. And not only because of his way of playing on the pitch, but because of his hobbies outside of it. Everyone knows that the former Manchester United striker is a great lover of boxing.
He has even been seen celebrating a goal by imitating being knocked out in a boxing match. But now, he wants to go further, and it seems that he is willing to participate in a boxing evening. Something that Eddie Hearn, British sports promoter who is in charge of carrying out boxing matches and president of Matchroom Sport and Professional Darts Corporation, has assured.
During a talk on Peter Crouch's podcast, Hearn spoke about the possibility of having an evening with celebrities from the country. Could a footballer participate? Asked the former English striker, to which they mentioned that Rooney can fight, I have spoken with Wayne , assured the promoter.
But the thing did not stop there. Eddie Hearn also revealed a practice that Rooney does when he's in a late-drunk state, when Wayne has a drink, texts me and starts saying, I'll fight him and I'll fight him, and I get excited. Sometimes I get a message from Rooney that says, make me a fight against so-and-so, make that fight. I look at it in the morning and say This is huge, commented the promoter.
A motivation that Rooney seems to forget in the morning, when he already wakes up after a night of partying, so he sent him a message, A few glasses of red or are you serious? Then he won't respond and I'll say, Damn. But Wayne can fight, he's done counting.
