Manchester United face a difficult decision between their two goalkeepers, Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, as they battle for the starting spot. Both keepers have brought unique qualities to the table, but inconsistencies in Onana's performances have opened the door for Bayindir to stake his claim.
Signed from Inter Milan in the summer, Onana has undoubtedly brought a new dimension to Manchester United's play. His ability to play out from the back and start attacks has been a revelation. However, his occasionally erratic performances have raised questions about his consistency. Despite some impressive displays, Onana has also been culpable for high-profile errors that have cost his team points.
Altay Bayindir, on the other hand, has impressed with his consistency and reliability. The Turkish international has been a dependable presence between the sticks in the domestic cups and the Europa League. While he may not possess the same level of technical ability as Onana, Bayindir has shown himself to be a capable shot-stopper and has made several crucial saves.
The decision of who to start in goal is a difficult one for manager Rúben Amorim. On one hand, Onana offers a higher risk, higher reward option, while Bayindir provides a more reliable and consistent performance. Ultimately, the decision will likely come down to which goalkeeper gives the team the best chance of winning.
