Manchester United will be looking to halt a worrying slide when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Monday night. The Red Devils have lost their last three matches in all competitions, including a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Newcastle are riding high in seventh place and have won their last four games.

United's struggles continue

Rúben Amorim´s side have struggled for consistency this season. Despite a promising start to the campaign, a series of disappointing results has left them languishing in 14th place in the Premier League. The recent defeats to Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, and Wolves have heaped pressure on the manager.

Newcastle flying high

In contrast, Newcastle are enjoying a resurgence under Eddie Howe. The Magpies have been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League this season, and their attacking play has been particularly eye-catching. Newcastle's recent victories over Aston Villa, Ipswich Town, Brentford, and Leicester City have propelled them into the top half of the table.

Predicted line-ups:

  • Manchester United: Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Martínez; Mazraoui, Mainoo, Eriksen, Dalot; Diallo, Antony; Hojlund
  • Newcastle United: Duvraka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Willock, Guimaraes; Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

Where to watch

The match will be televised live on Sky Sports in the UK. Kick-off is at 8pm GMT on Monday, December 30th.
