Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has launched a scathing attack on his old club following their latest defeat, this time at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 1-0 loss has left the Red Devils languishing in mid-table and has heaped further pressure on manager Rubén Amorim. Owen, who won multiple trophies during his time at Old Trafford, did not mince his words when assessing United's current situation.

"Where do I start?" Owen said. "Wow, that was a horrible performance. They look terrible. They don't look like a team at all. The manager has come in and done nothing, honestly."

Owen was particularly critical of the team's lack of identity and cohesion. He pointed out that the players seem to be going through the motions and are not playing with any passion or desire.

A season of discontent

United's defeat to Tottenham is just the latest in a long line of disappointing results this season. The club has struggled to find any consistency and has been knocked out of both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

The fans have become increasingly frustrated with the team's performances, and there have been calls for Amorim to be sacked. The Portuguese manager has failed to turn things around since taking over at Old Trafford, and his future at the club is now in doubt.

What next for Manchester United?

Manchester United have a lot of work to do if they are to get back to the top of English football. The club needs to make significant changes in the summer transfer window, and they may also need to appoint a new manager.
