Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has addressed the recent goal-scoring struggles of his forwards, Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, and Alejandro Garnacho. Amorim believes that a combination of factors, including creating chances and a touch of luck, are key to unlocking their scoring potential.
"Sometimes there are things that are difficult to explain," Amorim stated. "Before the last game, there were games without chances, and it's impossible for them to score in those conditions." He emphasises the importance of creating opportunities for his strikers to find the net.
"In the last few games, I felt it was a matter of luck," Amorim admitted. "Sometimes you have to create chances and a bit of luck. When you score one goal, the pressure disappears, and you score two or three in the next games." He acknowledges that fortune plays a role in football.
Amorim believes that once his strikers break their goal-scoring drought, the pressure will ease, and they will find their scoring touch. "When you score one goal, the pressure disappears, and you score two or three in the next games," he reiterated.
Rasmus Hojlund, who has shown glimpses of his talent, is yet to find consistent goal-scoring form. Amorim is confident that the young striker's potential will shine through with time and opportunity.
Joshua Zirkzee, another promising forward, is also seeking to establish himself as a regular goal-scorer. Amorim believes that Zirkzee has the qualities to succeed, but needs to find his rhythm.
Alejandro Garnacho, the young Argentine winger, has shown flashes of brilliance. Amorim is keen to see Garnacho develop his goal-scoring instincts and become a more consistent threat.
Amorim has called on his team to provide better service and create more opportunities for the forwards. He believes that a collective effort is needed to improve the team's goal-scoring output.
Manchester United fans have been patient with the strikers, but are eager to see them find their scoring touch. Amorim has called for understanding and support during this period.
Amorim is optimistic that the team's fortunes will change, and the strikers will start scoring goals. He believes that the next few games could be a turning point for the team.
Amorim's comments highlight the delicate balance between creating chances and the role of luck in football. He is confident that his strikers have the ability to score goals and that it is only a matter of time before they find their form.
