The loss of Champions League football for Manchester United means that the squad needs to be trimmed and the January transfer window has already seen players leaving. The likes of Donny Van De Beek, Jadon Sancho and Alvaro Fernandez have all left on loan, and with FFP lurking around Manchester United will look to prioritize more departures.

This morning there was another departure from Manchester as Hannibal Mejbri left the club on loan to Sevilla for the rest of the season. Sevilla had interest in the Tunisian player this past summer but were never able to get a deal done. Hannibal had a promising start to the season including starting in Champions League against Galatasaray but since then he has only had one start for the club. The lack of minutes since then led to the club finding him a temporary home for the remainder of the season.
After being bought for 10 million euros from AS Monaco in 2019 at the age of 16, Hannibal was meant to be the next big star from Carrington but so far that has not turned out to be the case as the likes of Kobbie Mainoo usurped him in the rotation.
According to “RMC Sport” Fabrice Hawkins, the deal will include a 20 million Euro buy option and a 35 million Euro buy back clause for the Red Devils. Fabrizio Romano was also on record saying that Manchester United are 99.9 percent sure that Hannibal Mejbri will be back at the club at the end of the season.

Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag has always had kind words to say about the young midfielder and was very appreciative of his efforts earlier in the season. “I think he gives a very good message to the rest of the squad,” Ten Hag said, “ that this is the demand, this has to be the standard when you are playing in a position, what you have to bring to the team, to get success.
