Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer, should they secure promotion back to the Premier League. The Danish forward has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since his big-money move from Atalanta last year, and United are willing to sell him for around £40 million.
Hojlund, who was seen as one of the most promising young strikers in European football, has failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. Injuries and a lack of confidence have hampered his progress, and he has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter under manager Rúben Amorim.
With Leeds United on the verge of returning to the Premier League, they are looking to strengthen their squad with a proven goalscorer. Hojlund fits the bill, and his familiarity with the English game could make him an attractive option for the Yorkshire club.
However, Leeds will face competition for Hojlund's signature from a number of other clubs. The Danish striker has also been linked with moves to Italy and Germany.
Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer as they look to rebuild their squad. The club is reportedly keen to sign a world-class striker, and the sale of Hojlund would provide them with funds to reinvest in the team.
With Hojlund struggling to make an impact, it is clear that he is not part of Ten Hag's long-term plans. The manager is believed to be keen to bring in a striker who is more suited to his style of play.
