Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is attracting interest from European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, following his departure from Old Trafford.
Greenwood, who was once considered one of the brightest young talents in English football, left Manchester United under a cloud of controversy last year. The club terminated his contract following allegations of assault and controlling behavior.
Despite the controversy surrounding his exit, Greenwood has continued to train and is now attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe. PSG and Barcelona are both believed to be monitoring his situation, with the French club reportedly valuing him at around £60 million.
Signing Greenwood would be a risky move for any club. The player's reputation has been tarnished by the allegations against him, and he would face significant scrutiny if he were to join a new team.
However, both PSG and Barcelona are desperate to strengthen their attacking options, and they may be willing to take a gamble on Greenwood. The two clubs have a history of signing controversial players, and they believe that Greenwood could be a valuable asset if he can rediscover his best form.
Manchester United have included a 50% sell-on clause in Greenwood's contract, which means that they would be entitled to half of any future transfer fee. This could provide the club with a significant windfall, especially if he is sold to a club like PSG or Barcelona.
However, the club may face criticism for profiting from the sale of a player who has been accused of serious offenses.
