Jadon Sancho has sent a message of support to his former Manchester United teammate Marcus Rashford after the striker completed a loan move to Aston Villa.
The English winger, who is currently on loan at Chelsea, responded to Rashford's Instagram post announcing his departure from Old Trafford. Rashford confirmed his move to Villa Park on Sunday, stating that he was excited to join a club with "big ambitions".
Sancho's reply was simply, "He's back!" accompanied by a crossed fingers emoji. The message shows the bond between the two former United teammates and suggests that Sancho is hopeful that Rashford can rediscover his best form at Villa Park.
Both Sancho and Rashford have experienced challenging times at Manchester United in recent seasons. Sancho, who joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a fee of £73 million, has struggled to live up to expectations and was loaned out to Dortmund in January 2024. Rashford, meanwhile, has seen his form dip in recent seasons, and his relationship with former manager Erik ten Hag has been strained.
The loan moves for both players represent a chance to rediscover their form and reignite their careers. Rashford's move to Aston Villa is a particularly significant one, as he joins a club that is challenging for European qualification. The 27-year-old will be hoping to rediscover the form that made him one of the most exciting young talents in English football.
With both players now away from Old Trafford, it will be interesting to see how their careers develop. Sancho will be hoping to establish himself as a key player for Chelsea, while Rashford will be looking to prove his worth at Aston Villa.
