Marcus Rashford has officially joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the season. The England international, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford this season, expressed his excitement at the move.
"I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen," Rashford said in a statement. "I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision - I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers' ambitions."
"I just want to play football and am excited to get started," he added. "I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season."
Rashford's move to Villa Park comes after a challenging period at Old Trafford. The forward, who has been a key player for United in recent seasons, has struggled for form and consistency this term.
Villa, who are currently challenging for a top four finish, will be hoping that Rashford can rediscover his best form and make a significant impact on their season. The move will also provide Rashford with an opportunity to rediscover his confidence and playing time.
