PSV Eindhoven have agreed to cover the full wages of Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia as part of his season-long loan deal. The Dutch side will be paying the entirety of Malacia's £47,000-a-week salary, a significant commitment that underlines their ambition to secure the player on a permanent basis.
The decision to take on such a substantial wage bill for a player who is only on loan is a bold one from PSV. However, it demonstrates the club's belief in Malacia's potential and their desire to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
There are several reasons why PSV have decided to cover Malacia's entire wage. Firstly, the Dutch club see the 23-year-old as a key player for the future and believe that he can help them challenge for domestic and European honors. Secondly, by taking on a significant portion of Malacia's wages, PSV have increased their chances of signing the player on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
The loan deal represents a win-win situation for both PSV and Manchester United. PSV get a talented young player who can help them improve their squad, while United can assess Malacia's development in a different league and environment.
If Malacia can impress during his loan spell at PSV, he could earn himself a permanent move to the Dutch club. However, if he fails to live up to expectations, Manchester United may decide to recall him or sell him to another club.
