New Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly eyeing a raid on his former club Sporting CP as he looks to reshape the Red Devils' squad. The Portuguese tactician is keen to bring two of his former players, Francisco Moura and Samu Aghehowa, to Old Trafford.
Amorim has worked closely with both Moura and Aghehowa during his time at Sporting CP. He knows their strengths, weaknesses, and how they fit into his tactical system. Moura is a dynamic midfielder with excellent technical ability and a knack for scoring goals, while Aghehowa is a versatile defender who is comfortable on the ball and can play in a variety of positions.
While the prospect of signing Moura and Aghehowa is exciting for United fans, there are a number of challenges that need to be overcome. Firstly, Sporting CP will be reluctant to sell two of their best players, especially to a direct rival. Secondly, both players will command a significant transfer fee.
It remains to be seen whether United will be successful in their pursuit of Moura and Aghehowa. However, it is clear that Amorim is keen to bring in players who he knows and trusts. If United can get these deals over the line, it would be a major statement of intent from the club.
Key questions:
Only time will tell whether Amorim will be successful in bringing Moura and Aghehowa to Old Trafford. However, one thing is for sure: the Portuguese manager is looking to build a team that is capable of challenging for trophies.
