Manchester United have completed the signing of highly-rated defender Patrick Dorgu from Italian side Lecce. The young Danish international has undergone a medical and will officially join the Red Devils in the coming days.
Dorgu's move to Old Trafford comes after a successful spell in Serie A, where he has impressed with his athleticism, versatility, and defensive ability. The 21-year-old is seen as a promising young talent and is expected to bolster United's defensive options.
Lecce manager, Marco Giampaolo, has paid tribute to Dorgu, who will be sorely missed at the Stadio Via del Mare. "It's true, Patrick Dorgu will fly to Manchester on Saturday," Giampaolo said. "He's a fantastic player and a great guy. He always gave his best for us. I didn't play him tonight because his mind might already be in Old Trafford."
Dorgu's departure is a significant loss for Lecce, but the club will be hoping to reinvest the transfer fee in strengthening their squad.
At Manchester United, Dorgu will face stiff competition for a place in the first team. However, the club's track record of developing young talent suggests that he will be given every opportunity to succeed. With his athleticism, versatility, and technical ability, Dorgu has the potential to become a key player for United in the years to come.
