Manchester United will be sporting a special edition kit for their upcoming matches against West Ham and Arsenal, as the club shows its support for a vital cause.
The Red Devils have announced a unique partnership with their current front-of-shirt sponsor, Snapdragon. As part of their record-breaking £60 million-a-year deal, Qualcomm Technologies, the company behind Snapdragon, has the privilege of nominating a charity to replace their logo on the front of the shirt for one match per season, for both the men's and women's teams.
This season, Snapdragon has chosen to support (RED), an organization dedicated to fighting AIDS and building a healthier future for people and the planet. The (RED) logo will take center stage on the United's jerseys when the men's first team faces West Ham on May 10th, and the women's team takes on Arsenal on May 11th, subject to any changes.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition shirts featuring the new logo, as well as other exclusive merchandise. All proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Global Fund, with an additional contribution from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The partnership between Manchester United and (RED) is a natural fit. Both organizations are committed to making a positive impact on the world, and this collaboration allows them to combine their reach and influence to drive real change.
Manchester United has a long history of supporting charitable causes, and the club's global fanbase provides a powerful platform for raising awareness and funds. By featuring the (RED) logo on their jerseys, the club is sending a strong message about the importance of fighting AIDS and building a healthier future for generations to come.
(RED) was founded in 2006 by U2's Bono and Bobby Shriver with the goal of helping to end the AIDS epidemic. The organization partners with the world's most iconic brands to engage consumers and raise critical funds for the Global Fund.
By purchasing (RED) products, consumers are helping to provide life-saving medicines, prevention services, and testing to people in need. (RED)'s work has been instrumental in helping to reduce the number of AIDS-related deaths by more than 50% since 2005.
The decision to feature (RED) on the Manchester United shirt is a powerful statement about the club's values and its commitment to social responsibility. By supporting this important cause, Manchester United is inspiring millions of fans around the world to take action and make a difference.
The special edition kits will not only look great, but they will also help to raise awareness of the ongoing fight against AIDS. Fans who purchase these kits will be joining a global movement to create a healthier and more equitable world for all.
