Manchester United have intensified their pursuit of talented young players with scouts attending Sporting's recent match against Porto to watch highly-rated forward Geovany Quenda.

The Red Devils have been on the lookout for a young striker to bolster their attacking options and the 20-year-old Spaniard has emerged as a prime target. Quenda has been in sensational form for Porto the last season, netting 13 goals in 13 Liga Portugal games. His pace, power, and eye for goal have caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Chelsea who were previously linked with a move for the forward.

A perfect fit for Amorim's system?

Quenda's playing style and physical attributes make him an ideal fit for the Premier League. His ability to play as a lone striker or as part of a front two would provide Rúben Amorim with a versatile attacking option. The Portuguese manager is keen to add more goals to his team, and Quenda's impressive goal-scoring record suggests he could be the answer.

Competition for Quenda's signature

However, Manchester United are not the only club interested in signing Quenda. Chelsea, who were keen on the player in the summer, are still monitoring his progress, while other top European clubs have also been linked with a move for the young Spaniard.

What next for Quenda?

With the January transfer window now open, it is expected that Manchester United will make a move for Quenda in the coming weeks. However, the club will face stiff competition from a number of other clubs.
