There’s always one player that arrives at a football club that gets the fan base so excited that they cannot wait to see him. When Neymar went to PSG all of Paris was itching in anticipation, when Haaland went to City half of Manchester was aching to watch him. For Manchester United every summer it feels like they have one of those players and in the summer of 2021 the first one was Jadon Sancho.

The arrival of Jadon Sancho was long awaited at United after a move to the club had broken down the previous summer, due to Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United being unable to come to an agreement on the fee. Manchester United were able to agree personal terms with the player. With the deal already halfway done for next year, Jadon Sancho would end up joining in the summer of 2021.

However, the anticipation for Sancho far outweighed the performances on the pitch as the player struggled to get acclimated to Manchester, and with the team struggling as a collective it was hard for the young forward to fit in. When Erik Ten Hag arrived in 2022, everyone thought Sancho could finally get used to life in the Premier League. And the player started well, scoring a crucial goal against Liverpool and the winner against Leicester City. But then everything went left when Sancho disappeared from the squad in November for no apparent reason. Ten Hag would send him to the Netherlands to work on his fitness and strength to get into the shape to come back to the squad.

This season Sancho found himself in trouble with Ten Hag and was dropped due to poor training effort. Sancho would respond on social media, a move that would see him isolated from the squad and he has not played for the club since and is now at his former club in Dortmund on loan.
