Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has suffered another injury setback, dealing a significant blow to the club's defensive options. The England international is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks as he recovers from his latest ailment.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Shaw has been forced to the sidelines with a long-term injury. Over the course of his career at Old Trafford, the 29-year-old has missed a staggering 1,636 days due to various fitness issues. This latest setback is a further blow to a player who has struggled to maintain consistency due to his injury problems.
Shaw's absence is a significant loss for Manchester United. The England international has been one of the club's most consistent performers in recent seasons, and his ability to both defend and attack makes him a valuable asset to the team. With Shaw sidelined, manager Rúben Amorim will have to find a suitable replacement.
Ten Hag has a number of options to fill the void left by Shaw's injury. Patrick Dorgu is the most obvious candidate, but the manager could also consider deploying a more experienced player like Diogo Dalot at left-back. Alternatively, Amorim could opt for a more defensive-minded approach and play with a back three.
Shaw will now be focused on his rehabilitation and will be working hard to return to full fitness as quickly as possible. The club's medical staff will play a crucial role in helping the defender recover and get back to his best.
