Never a dull day in Carrington when it comes to reports, as the continuous saga of Anthony Martial continues after yesterday’s reports that the player had been isolated from first team training. The French forward had been battling illness for the last month and has not featured for the Red Devils since the beginning of December against Bournemouth.

Martial’s injury woes are no new subject for United as the forward has not completed a full 90-minute game for the club since September 2021. Since then, he has gone on loan to another club in Sevilla, come back and still not been able to complete a 90. The striker has had hip injuries, achilles injuries, hamstring injuries, and many more. What once looked like a promising career of a future great, has turned into an injury riddled career.

Martial’s contract is up at the end of the season with the club not deciding to trigger the one-year option that would have seen the Frenchman stay another season at the club. With Martial set to leave for free, the club were hoping to be able to secure any possible funds for the player via a transfer. Yet despite some links with the likes of West Ham, Inter Milan, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray all linked with the player, no realistic move has materialized.

According to reports from The Daily Mail things had taken a left turn in the relationship between the player and coach Erik Ten Hag. Reports stated that the player had been isolated from first team training, and that he would have to train by himself until he regains full fitness and is at the level to be able to train at the proper intensity.

Anthony Martial’s agent claims the player has not been isolated at all

The Frenchman’s agent Phillipe Lamboley claims that the reports yesterday were categorically false and have no truth to them. The agent talked to Sky Sports and said “What is said about him is false. He was not excluded from the group and he has no problem with the coach. He is simply going to undergo a small operation on his adductors.”
