Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has launched a scathing attack on the club's transfer policy over the past ten years, claiming that poor recruitment has been a major factor in their decline.

In a recent interview, Giggs expressed his disappointment with the club's transfer dealings, stating, "Like any business, getting the recruitment right is key, and we've been poor at that for the last 10 years. We've made mistake after mistake."

Giggs has the final say

The Welshman, who made over 900 appearances for United, believes that the club's failure to consistently sign the right players has contributed to their decline in recent years. He pointed to the need for stability and time for a manager to build a successful team.

"Now, it's important to know if Ruben Amorim will have the players he needs, the support he requires, and the time," Giggs said. "We're in a challenging situation right now, but first and foremost, I want to say that I really like this coach. If he's given a chance and time, Amorim will bring back success."

Giggs continued, "If we sign the right players and give the manager time, everything will be fine. But at the moment, we're a long way off. We're a long, long way behind, but the situation can change quite quickly. We've tried to give managers a bit of time, but now he needs more: three or four transfer windows, I think. It all depends on whether he gets the right players, the support, and the time."
