Manchester United legend Gary Neville has launched a scathing attack on manager Rubén Amorim, questioning his tactical approach and expressing deep disappointment with the team's current form.
"I thought it would be a lot better when Rubén Amorim came in," Neville stated during a recent television appearance. "I thought they would really adapt to three at the back. I thought it would be a new idea, to give them a bit more strength. I don't think any of them are good enough to play in central defence, and I think the midfield is a bit weak. So I thought the idea of having three of them at the back, maybe five at times, would give them a platform to build from."
Neville continued, "When you watch Manchester United, you're always looking at each game. You have no idea what you're going to get. You have no idea what you're going to see today. It's a strange team sometimes."
Neville's criticism reflects the growing discontent among fans with Amorim's management. The team has struggled for consistency this season, and their performances have been far below expectations.
The former United captain, who has always been a vocal critic of the club when necessary, has now joined the chorus of voices questioning Amorim's tactics and his ability to get the best out of the current squad.
With the pressure mounting on Amorim to deliver results, the manager will need to find a way to turn things around quickly. If the team's performances continue to decline, the manager's position could come under serious threat.
