Manchester United will be determined to build on Sunday's FA Cup triumph over Newport County when they face Wolves at Molineux on Thursday evening. United, who beat the Black Country outfit 1-0 on the opening weekend of the season in August, survived a huge scare to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 4-2 win. Second-half goals from Antony and Rasmus Hojlund sealed United's passage to the next round after Newport had earlier fought back from two goals down to make it 2-2.

André Onana would make a decision that surprises Man United office and fans

The victory stretched United's unbeaten run in all competitions to three games, but two assignments within that run have been in the FA Cup, meaning they need to start laying down a marker in the Premier League. The Reds have won just one of their last six league outings. Fortunately, the worst of United's injury crisis appears to have blown over, meaning manager Erik ten Hag could deploy his strongest starting line-up for several months at Molineux. However, the contest will come too soon for both Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount, who are still recovering from knee and calf injuries respectively.

However, Ten Hag could recall Andre Onana in goal after he returned to England following a failed Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Cameroon. He is available for selection and it would be no surprise to see him immediately reinstated to the starting line-up at Altay Bayindir's expense. As for the back-four, Ten Hag could name the same quartet that started the win over Newport, with Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw among those who returned to the starting line-up at Rodney Parade. However, Harry Maguire stepped off the bench late on and will be pushing for a start after overcoming a groin injury.

Maguire, up until sustaining the injury in mid-December, had been an ever-present figure since the start of October, producing a series of accomplished performances. He could take the place of Raphael Varane and partner Martinez in the heart of the defence. It would be no surprise to see Ten Hag stick with the same midfield trio that started the weekend's victory, with Casemiro handed a first Premier League outing since October 7. He is likely to once again join forces with Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes in the engine room.

Continuity of Ten Hag

Should that prove to be the case, fellow midfielders Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen should be among the substitutes. In attack, Ten Hag could name the same trio that started against Newport, meaning Marcus Rashford may find a route back into the squad via the bench. He is available for selection. If named among the substitutes, Ten Hag will likely to deploy a front-three consisting of Alejandro Garnacho, Hojlund and Antony.
