The young Norwegian is arousing a lot of interest in the market as his renewal moves away.

Manchester United could sell highly-rated teenager Isak Hansen-Aarøen in the final days of the January transfer window. The 19-year-old has entered the final six months of his current deal at the club, and although talks are ongoing over a new contract, he looks increasingly set to leave this year.

United would still love to keep the Norwegian teenager but accept that if he doesn't sign a new contract, then it would be in their best interest to cash in on him while he still retains value for the club. The club would be entitled to compensation for him even if he left for free in the summer but media understands they are not ruling out his sale for a higher fee this month as part of a deal that would include favourable clauses, such as a percentage of any future sale.

As for the player, Hansen-Aarøen would still love to make things work at United but he is understood to feel frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities afforded to him. United want the Norwegian to sign a new four-and-a-half-year deal but the terms offered so far do not come close to packages he could expect to receive elsewhere and he is unconvinced by his own pathway to the first team.

United initially hoped Hansen-Aarøen would sign a new contract with the club this month and be sent on loan. Hansen-Aarøen is not short of interest either, with Ajax, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli among the top teams to express an interest in his signature, with a host of German and Dutch clubs also keen on him.

He has trained multiple times with the first team this month but was overlooked for selection for their FA Cup victories over both Wigan and Newport County, while other academy graduates were given a chance.
