Real Betis are keen to bolster their squad with the addition of Manchester United winger Antony on loan, but the deal is contingent on the departure of Assane Diao.
The Spanish side have identified Antony as a potential target to strengthen their attacking options, and his lack of regular game time at Old Trafford makes him an attractive proposition. However, the deal is far from straightforward, as Betis face several hurdles to complete the signing.
One of the primary obstacles is the need to offload Assane Diao before any negotiations for Antony can begin. Betis are keen to generate funds from the sale of Diao to help finance the potential loan deal for the Brazilian winger. Additionally, the club needs to free up space in their squad to accommodate Antony.
Another significant challenge is Antony's hefty salary. The Brazilian international earns in excess of £150,000 per week at Manchester United, and Betis would likely be required to contribute a substantial portion of his wages to make the loan deal feasible. This could prove to be a stumbling block, as the Spanish club may struggle to meet such financial demands.
Antony has struggled for regular first-team football at Manchester United since his big-money move from Ajax in 2022. The Brazilian winger has found himself in and out of the team, and his future at Old Trafford appears uncertain. A loan move to Betis could provide Antony with the opportunity to reignite his career and regain his confidence.
If Betis can overcome the financial hurdles and complete the signing of Antony, they would be adding a talented and versatile winger to their squad. Antony's pace, dribbling skills, and ability to create chances would make him a valuable asset for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
While the possibility of signing Antony on loan is exciting for Betis fans, the deal is far from guaranteed. The club must first offload Assane Diao and find a way to accommodate Antony's high wages. However, if Betis can overcome these challenges, they could pull off a major coup in the transfer market.
