The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new left-back and have identified Girona´s Miguel Gutiérrez as a prime target.
With the January transfer window looming, Manchester United are reportedly keen to bolster their defensive options. According to TalkSport, the club has set its sights on Girona´s highly-rated left-back, Miguel Gutiérrez. The young Spaniard has been making waves in La Liga and has caught the eye of several top European clubs.
Since taking the reins at Old Trafford, manager Rúben Amorim has implemented a more attacking style of play. His preferred 3-4-3 formation relies heavily on the full-backs providing width and attacking threat. Gutiérrez, with his attacking instincts and technical ability, is seen as the ideal candidate to fill this role.
Real Madrid, however, are reluctant to let one of their brightest young talents leave the club. They have recently renewed Ferland Mendy's contract and are also considering bringing back Fran García from Rayo Vallecano. Despite this, the Spanish giants may be tempted to cash in on Gutiérrez if a suitable offer arrives.
Manchester United are not the only club interested in Gutiérrez. Several other top European sides have been monitoring his progress, and a bidding war could ensue if the player becomes available.
Signing a young player like Gutiérrez is always a gamble. While he has shown great promise, there is no guarantee that he will be able to adapt to the physicality and intensity of the Premier League. However, if United can secure his signature, they will be acquiring a player with immense potential.
