Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has moved to quash speculation surrounding the futures of young stars Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, insisting that the club will do everything in their power to keep hold of their promising talents.

Speaking to the media, Amorim said, "It's true that clubs can generate money by selling academy players, but I want players like Kobbie Mainoo and Garnacho. The goal is to improve our academy and have other players come through."

Possible departures

Both Garnacho and Mainoo have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford in recent months. Garnacho has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli and Chelsea, with reports suggesting that Manchester United could be forced to sell the Argentine winger in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. Mainoo, meanwhile, has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs following his impressive performances for the Red Devils.

However, Amorim has made it clear that he sees both players as integral parts of his long-term plans for the club. The Portuguese manager believes that the duo have the potential to become world-class players and is determined to keep them at Old Trafford.
